Last June 23, the 1st CFC-SFC Singles Engagement Retreat (SER) was held at Mountain House, California. What is usually a three-day retreat was modified to a one-day activity to cater to the urgent need for the teaching. Despite the modification, the SER did not lose its effectiveness in orienting engaged couples about what’s in store for them in marriage.
Six couples, five of which still engaged, attended the retreat. They are: Ryan Paul Talusan and Abi Hernandez, Brian Chadwick and Stephanie Caveteno, Dwight Arenos and Iris Avena, Jae Calanog and Grace Espiritu, John Borders and Kristine Pardilla. The lone newly-married couple is John Patrick and Jacque Cuenca-Paraiso. Jacque is the eldest daughter of CFC Chairman Ricky Cuenca.
For 11 hours, the couples had lots of fun and tons of God’s messages as shared by the speakers. Those who offered their time to share wisdom to the participants were Bro. Wilfred Narvasa (CFC-Y PC), Bro. Elmer Estimo (SFC UH), Sis. Cynthia Paras (SFC CL), Bro. Rolly Fajilan (Family Min Head), and Bro. Pepot Calanog (SFC Sector Head).
The day ended with a sharing from the engaged couples and the viewing of a movie clip from Bro. JP and Sis. Jacque’s wedding. After which, the participants renewed their engagement vows as they were prayed over by the service team.
The next CFC-SFC NorCal Singles Engagement Retreat will fall on the weekend of June 15, 2013.
