I recently watched a “Princess Diaries” rerun and wondered how I would respond if someone suddenly reveals to me that I am a princess. “Me? A princess? Shut up!” would be a most likely reaction. Most of us will be overwhelmed, speechless or in a violent denial of such a possibility! A princess is supposed to be beautiful, living in a big castle, singing to the birds in the forest, and most of all, being pursued by Prince Charming. The nearest our lives can get is maybe to have two evil sisters or to have a witch for a stepmother who couldn’t wait to get rid of us so she can rule as queen forever. However, despite the realities that we experience, many of us still dream of being a part of the adventures of a fairy tale (of course, with our Prince Charming) and living happily ever after.
But what if I tell you now that you ARE a princess? Like Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty or Pocahontas, we are all seeking opportunities to unveil our true beauty and aspiring to be romanced by a person who would cherish us for who we truly are. Just as Ariel saved the life of the prince, or like Mulan who courageously fought a battle for her country or, Belle who brought out the goodness of Beast with love that broke the curse, we also desire to play an irreplaceable role in a great adventure. Being a daughter of the King of Kings, we are indeed princesses of the Kingdom.
Every princess has a story to tell.. and so do you.
On April 27, 2008, all SFC sisters, princesses in their own right, are invited to come to the She’s All That SFC Women’s Conference entitled “Princess Diaries” at the Marian Auditorium of Miriam College at Katipunan Road in Quezon City. Our event will open with Holy Mass at 8am. We ask everyone to come beautiful.
