It hits you right in the middle of your heart! The Metro Manila Conference last weekend talked about the theme of quest and journey. But what’s interesting is, as one would expect a hype of action and adventure, the theme of pursuit led to the piercing of the deepest emotions, and the true exploration of love – God’s love.
And who wouldn’t be cheesy and love struck when it is the Lord who is pursuing you? Who wouldn’t be in the clouds and be so kilig when God says He loves you? This is Christ’s pursuit. But the main question for everybody is would you return this love? Pakipot ka pa rin ba?
Don’t answer that question just yet. Mag muni-muni muna tayo. Reminiscing about last weekend will make one realize how complete and exciting it was - Aba, may pa-raffle ata! Kidding aside though, it was full of powerful worships, helpful workshops, inspiring stories, and sessions that make one discover Christ all over again. But not only did this conference make us understand about how God will continue to pursue us because of His immense love for us (The Journey), or how our intimate relationship with Him helps us see His grace in our journey (In The Pursuit of Christ), or how our own pursuits consume and blind us from our Christ pursuit (Empty Pursuits) or what awaits us at the end of our quest (The Prize of the Pursuit), the MMC made us see clearly that we are not alone in the journey - that you are not going through the quest alone.
Some of the things I liked this year are: The pacing of the activities, creative thought into the theme, powerful videos, great speakers in the workshops, empowering worships, and beautiful stories about the journey with God from the sharers. But what I liked most about this year, is the personal touch of each speaker. There was effort to reach out to us as they share pieces of their own lives. They had their own style of presenting their talks and they got me… it’s like… they got me at hello. Yehes!
We will remember this conference not just because of our adventure or misadventures together, but because we were with Christ that weekend. We saw Him when we closed our eyes, we spoke to him in silence and He touched us when we were still. We will remember this conference because Jesus told us that he wants us home.
So are you ready to answer the question earlier? Will you love the Lord back? Yet the Lord doesn’t mind what you’re answer is because He will never change. Martyr siya magmahal. He will love us nevertheless. Maging sino ka man. All he wants is for you to be with Him in heaven.
If I were you, ibigay mo na kay Lord ang matamis mong “oo.”
